Group 8 (Team Heavyweight) Photos

This is a photo of not just another day in class, but a beautiful memory of how we learned more about science and technology with the help of an extraordinary and very inspiring mentor.

This is the building inside UP which is equipped with the tools and equipment necessary to hone young minds of UP students.

Science, Technology and Society

A fortunate morning at MRT Quezon Avenue station (due to the lack of long lines).
Commuters young and old line up to get on the train.

Intricate planning has lead to the rise of transportation systems such as trains. Due to the heavy traffic in metro manila, many choose this as an alternative to buses and jeepneys. But as a trade off they have to combat the lack of space especially during rush hour.

TEAM E1 STS-Themed Photos

This is a view of UP at sunset. The windows are a simple form of technology but it is a very important one at that. The windows do not just protect us from harmful external forces, but they also brings in light, and air when we need it; they represent how technology has become a necessity for our society today. The light coming from the windows can also symbolize opportunity and the bright future that is to come for our society and technology. Taken with Nikon D5000.  #NoFilter

This is a shot of the ongoing reconstruction at the Palma Hall. It shows how society values architectural landmarks; we try to improve it by restoring its features and installing new structures, while at the same time preserving the historical building. Taken with iPhone 4S camera.

Group 9 (Cloud 9): Science in Our Everyday Lives

The Irony. We utilize Science and Technology in our daily lives to bring order and safety, yet many still choose to be ignorant.

Closing the Gap. Through the development of transportation, our big world becomes a smaller one for us to explore and enjoy.

Photowalk by Group 2 (Team Ina)

Stained Glass

Much like the many colors and shapes of this window, the photo shows how science can provide new, alternative perspectives with which we can view the unknown.

Trash

However, in society, there can be negative repercussions brought about by advancements and technology, especially when it comes to the environment.
